Meet Mick
Professional and Personal Summary:
Having grown up in rural Montana, I feel I am a part of this great state, and she is a part
of me. She is in my heart and in my soul. I have tilled her soil, planted her crops, and
harvested her grain. I am a product of her education system, and I have taught her
children. I have hunted, fished, and hiked amongst her natural beauty, and I have
protected her precious crown jewel, Glacier National Park.
Over the course of my nearly 33-year career with the National Park Service, I spent time
in various positions at parks across the United States and recently retired as
Superintendent of Glacier National Park. The last 22 years of my career were in management-level positions. I have been married to my wife, Patti, for 37 years. She recently
retired as a Special Education teacher with Ruder Elementary in Columbia Falls, Montana.
We have two sons, Nathan and Eric, "both Montanans themselves", and three grand-dogs, Eli,
Sophie, and Kit. Currently, I am a full-time candidate for the Montana State Legislature
in House District 3.
